    Engine 39

    South Metro's Engine Companies are designed to be initial response units to all-hazard emergencies involving fires, medicals, traffic accidents or hazardous materials. Engines are staffed by 3 or 4 firefighters and depending where they are housed in our district, carry between 750 and 1,500 gallons of water. Technical Details 2017 Pierce Velocity with a 750 gallon water tank and 1500 gpm pump.

    South Metro operates several Brush Engines which are specialized vehicles used by our Wildland Firefighting Team. These vehicles are specifically designed to fight brush fires in the wildland interface. Brush Engine 39 is sometimes listed as a national resource and SMFR Firefighters respond across the country to serious willdand fires. Technical Details - 2014 International / BME 4x4 classified as NWCG Type III

Technical Details 2000 International / Emergency One with a 1250 gpm pump, 500 gallon water tank, Compressed Air Foam System (CAFS), remote operated bumper turret and light tower.
